As you'd expect from Stephen King, a completely original take
on the whole vampire perspective; a genuinely spooky movie, let down only by a
slight excess of the red stuff on the final reel - and this was made for TV, though
later shown in theaters.
The story starts with a series of bizarre deaths,
linked with a light aircraft landing before and leaving after ... the 'Elvis On
The Moon'-type newspaper offers the story to their top reporter, to get him back
on form. He declines, but changes his mind when the new cub reporter starts to
get results. She's no Jimmy Olsen, though a whizz with a laptop, but enough to
get Our Man jealous and resentful.
The story builds from nastiness to nastiness;
then the NIght Flier lets us know that it's personal .... a whole new ballgame,
and a whole new twist on vampirism, but not a movie to be missed.
