Synopsis: Blade is the ultimate vampire hunter possessing superhuman
strength and the cunning of a vampire but with none of their weaknesses. Deacon
Frost, the vampire overlord, has plans to conquer mankind and Blade must overcome
this threat before the entire human race is annihilated... Review: Fast-paced,
lots of violence and martial arts too - a thoroughly modern Gore-Fest, in fact.
It's smooth and sophisticated flow might mislead you on the matter of plot,
however .... which is a tad flimsy and hard to follow at times. Interesting nuance
is the 'half blood' concept, with a potential for veering suddenly from the light
to the dark side. I did get feelings of deja vu, and I think this is because
they've set out to make a 'Buffy' for Big Boys - less humour, less subtlety, and
much more blood. But all in all, an enjoyable action feature that does give more
than many. it ends with an intro for Blade 2 - and, yes, you do have to rush out
and buy that, as well! There are interesting insights on surviving the vampyreverse,
but I'll need to watch the movie again to get the details ...
